There are many ways of knowing. Think about how you learn in both your personal and professional life. Discuss various ways you have gained knowledge through your observational experiences during your capstone practicum by answering the following questions:

  • What is the focus of your capstone practicum?
  • What have you observed thus far?
  • How do you determine if the information presented is valid and accurate?
  • Review the “hierarchy of evidence” model and determine where you seek most of your information for both your personal and professional life and why.
  • Provide personal examples.
  • Include at least 2 scholarly articles supporting your statements.

· A scenario is to be used to complete the RUA: We Can But Dare We paper that is due at the end of week 4. Below is the scenario; please do not use any other scenario for this assignment. Logistics and details, including scenario ending choices, regarding the paper can be found in the RUA: We Can But Dare We grading rubric found in the Unit 4 module.

Scenario:

You are an emergency department nurse responding to a severe freeway accident. As a triage registered nurse determining the severity of each case and maintaining proper flow, it is your duty to review all patients impacted by this event. While reviewing patients coming in, you stumble across a familiar name, which happens to be the name of a famous actor, Governor Gru. Upon determining this, you happen to take a photo of the data and post about the finding on your social media account.

To complete this paper, please choose an appropriate scenario ending listed in the RUA We Can But Dare We rubric (which is also attached to this announcement).

THIS IS AN INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT. Each of you will write your own paper.

This assignment will be submitted to Turn It In and will be screened for integrity violations. TRY NOT use quotes of any kind. (1 is acceptable). If you paraphrase and cite all content you will significantly reduce your similarity score.

Healthcare statistics dp 2

Your new staff was very interested to learn about the many online federal and state health care databases and the different types of statistical information available in each database. Like other health care organizations, Choice Hospital wants to maintain its financial stability and improve the quality of patient care. The new CEO of Choice Hospital would like to gain a better understanding of utilization rates and other measures of performance that can be used to track and demonstrate quality improvement. As the HCA, you and your team are asked to conduct preliminary research in the following areas:

  • Identify databases for statistical information on the utilization rates and other measures of quality performance (e.g., average length of stay [ALOS], patient wait times, and death rates) and select a healthcare statistic.
  • Define your chosen healthcare statistic and explain how it was calculated.
  • Explain to your staff the purpose of research questions and how the data obtained from research questions are used for informed decision-making.
  • Describe hypothesis testing and how it is used in research.
  • Formulate a hypothesis related to your chosen healthcare statistic.

question

I need the paper I have attached to provide a concise description of my study.

Provide a concise and accurate description of the study. Describe the research question, significance, and aims for achieving the stated goals. Avoid discipline-specific technical language.

Below is JUST an Example what it should look like this is ONLY an EXAMPLE:

Gender-based violence (GBV) is a global public health crisis affecting female youths in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Studies have shown a high prevalence of GBV within SSA, ranging from 42.3% to 67.7%. Healthcare providers (HCPs) are crucial as survivors' first point of contact and are responsible for creating a safe environment. However, there is a notable gap in their training on GBV in SSA, leading to revictimization and survivors not seeking necessary care. While educational interventions have shown promise in improving health outcomes and reducing GBV, most research in this area has been conducted in high-income countries (HICs), leaving the relevance and effectiveness of such interventions in SSA uncertain. Effective interventions to address GBV in resource-limited healthcare settings necessitate understanding locally appropriate strategies. This research project aims to evaluate the effectiveness of an educational training program on GBV for healthcare providers in Nigeria. The study will be conducted at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), a first-generation Teaching Hospital under the Federal Ministry of Health, renowned for providing quality healthcare. Interested participants will attend an in-person educational workshop, enabling direct engagement and interaction. By piloting a GBV survey before and after the training program, the project aims to systematically examine knowledge, attitudes, and self-efficacy related to GBV screening and response (encompassing sexual violence, intimate partner violence, and stalking) among sub-Saharan African healthcare providers.

This research will develop a comprehensive understanding of GBV prevention and response measures, explicitly focusing on the unique context and resource limitations of healthcare settings in SSA. The project aims to bring together healthcare providers from nursing and midwifery within the teaching hospital, enabling comparisons related to knowledge, attitudes, and self-efficacy related to GBV screening and response. Findings from this project will inform the development of contextually appropriate prevention and response measures that can be implemented in other Nigerian states and eventually across the entire country. Baseline data will be obtained through pre-and post-surveys, focusing on GBV prevention practices and needs and resources related to GBV in healthcare. This data will inform future intervention pathways and contribute to developing sustainable and effective strategies. Stakeholder engagement at the teaching hospital will be facilitated through various means, including written materials such as policy briefs, case scenarios, lectures, and referrals to relevant resources. This project aims to foster long-term and sustainable change in addressing GBV by raising awareness among healthcare providers across Nigeria. This project fills a critical knowledge gap in provider training on GBV in SSA and contributes to developing evidence-based interventions. It can improve the quality of care provided to GBV survivors, reduce revictimization, and promote sustainable change in addressing GBV. By developing contextually appropriate prevention and response measures, this project has the potential to empower healthcare providers and enhance their preparedness to respond to GBV, ultimately leading to improved health outcomes, reduction in GBV incidents, and promote lasting change.

WEEK 8 RN EBP POST REPLY

Reflection on The Evidence-Nursing Practice Connection

Discussion reply

Hello class!

Good Morning,

One barrier that keeps nurses from engaging in evidence-based-practice is a lack of knowledge and understanding in the practice. Most of the time nurses work a unit and become familiar with that unit and most unit are broken up based on body system affected. Working in mental health I would be nervous getting pulled to another unit because it is not what I am used to. Yes, while in nursing school we learn all the systems but once you find what you like, you try to stick with that field. One strategy you could use to facilitate the use of evidence-based practice is to encourage to use of a mentor program especially for new nursing graduates.  Mentoring or just having a supportive environment makes learning and using evidence much easier.

During the beginning of this course, I didn’t really think about evidence-based practice, it was just something we as nurses used. I learned the importance of evidence-based research and how it improves nursing practices.  Learning how to correctly present an issue and suggested steps to improve this issue and how it would affect patients and staff. That was the most helpful I even presented an issue to my supervisor, and it was forwarded to the director, So now I just need to complete the presentation to the Leadership committee next week. Hopefully it goes well. But still nervous!
