WK 8-10 RESP HEALTH 2

HIT 2000 MOD 2 DB

Instructions: This discussion will be completed in two parts and will give you an opportunity to reflect upon this week’s content and to interact with your classmates.

  • Part 1 – Post your initial response to the discussion questions by Thursday at 11:59 pm
  • Part 2 – Post substantive feedback to two (2) classmates by Sunday at 11:59 pm

Part 1 Initial Post: Contribute a substantive initial posting that demonstrates critical thinking and understanding of the subject matter presented. Imagine you are an HIM consultant who has been hired by a private practice to oversee the selection, implementation and adoption of an electronic health record for the practice. You are getting ready to have your kickoff meeting with the practice manager where you will discuss the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and its impact on the success of the selection and implementation of the EHR. In your initial discussion response, explain what you would tell the practice manager about the SDLC, and its various stages. The goal is to ensure the practice manager understands the steps of the SDLC and its impact on the EHR adoption’s success. Your initial response should be  >/= 150 words and include reference to this weeks learning material, external research, and/or personal experiences.

Part 2 Response Posts: Respond to at least two other class members with a substantive contribution that reflects critical thinking.

HIT 1550 MOD 2 DB

After reviewing the obstetrics chapter, identify and discuss a root operation that you find interesting. Do you think finding root operations in the obstetrics chapter will be easier than the medical surgical section? Why or why not? What are some other aspects of obstetric coding that you find interesting?

Discussion board

Need a little help and some ideas for the discussion board.

week 4

  1. Identify a nurse-driven topic of interest related to a current challenge in nursing or your workplace and explain why it is a nursing problem. This topic will be used to complete the remainder course assignments. Be sure to review any feedback from the faculty this week posted on the discussion board.
  2. Evidence-based practice uses the PICOT model for formulating a searchable question. Follow the guide below to answer the questions that will help you develop your PICOT question. Support your response by citing and referencing either the course lesson or assigned textbook.
  • P = Population: How would you describe the group of patients in question?
  • I = Intervention: What main nursing intervention within your scope of practice are you considering implementing to improve patient outcomes?
  • C = Comparison: Is there an alternative to compare with the intervention?
  • O = Outcome: What do you hope to accomplish, improve or affect from the implementing the nursing intervention?
  • T = Timeframe: What would be the timeframe for data collection or time to measure the outcome?
  1. Based on your responses, use the sample below to develop your clinical PICOT question. State your clinical question.

In elderly patients (P), does a fall risk assessment tool (I) compared to none (C) affect fall rates (O) by hospital discharge (T)?
